Sopko flanged adapters are machined from alloy steel. The resulting one piece hub design distributes mounting pressure away from the bore, the weakest part of the grinding wheel. The inherent rigidity of one piece design, and the precision ground flanges provide identical radial load bearing surfaces for positive wheel lock and better spindle driving torque to the abrasive wheel. All surfaces are ground concentric and square for optimum surface finishes. Completely heat treated, Sopko flanged adapters are safe to use and maintain their rigidity.

Sopko balancing rings have milled pockets with 180° arc-length. One end of the arc is permanently stamped with a reference line and arrow to designate direction of rotation. Unlike some balancing rings, Sopko “sandwiches” the milled pockets together inside the mated faces. Grinding grit can’t build up! Rings are lapped flat and ground for a precision fit. A nylon-tipped set screw secures each ring to the adapter hub. All balancing adapters furnished with a 3/32" hex wrench 00938.

Sopko LONG EXTENDED ADAPTERS are designed to provide added clearance by locating the grinding wheel further from the spindle nose. These adapters are ideal for surface grinder applications where the operator must reach across a boss or other obstruction in order to grind. Sopko cup wheel adapters are made with a THIN WALL FRONT FLANGE design to give maximum usage of cup wheel depth. Fully HEAT TREATED and made from SOLID BAR STOCK, Sopko cup wheel extension adapters are RIGID to provide positive wheel lock. A hardened and ground nut locks the wheel from the back of the adapter.
